Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds

There are many opportunities in which members and friends of all ages may participate at St. John's UMC.

United Methodist Youth Fellowship

From sixth to twelfth grade, we provide opportunities for youth to be encouraged, empowered, and grow in their faith with annual mission and ministry trips and Sunday night worship.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is a supportive, inclusive Christian membership organization where women like you grow spiritually, develop as leaders and serve and work to create a world in which all women, children and youth thrive. United Methodist Women is celebrated as the women’s ministry of The United Methodist Church.

Senior Adults

We would like to invite anyone that is 50 and older (or if you are younger and just want to join us!) to join the Golden Hearts . We enjoy activities, trips and fellowship with one another. God has blessed us to be a happy, healthy, active and vibrant group that enjoys life. Please do not miss out on all the fun and fellowship.

Sacks of Love

Sacks of Love program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children in Kershaw County at times when other resources are not available by providing them with easy to prepare foods to take home during the weekends or holiday vacation.

Prayers and Squares

Prayers & Squares is an interfaith outreach organization that combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt. The purpose of Prayers & Squares is to promote prayer through the use of quilts. Our motto is: "It's not about the quilt; it's all about the prayers."

The United Methodist Men is comprised of every adult male member of  St. John's. The purpose of the Methodist Men is to enjoy good fellowship, deepen our spiritual lives, strengthen the role of men in the church, and motivate service in the name of Jesus Christ.

Grounds Ministry

The Grounds team is responsible for trimming and mowing the church landscape.

From birth to fifth grade, we provide a ministry designed to help foster a strong foundation of  faith. We help encourage a faith-filled childhood through education and creativity. We use curriculum specific to their age and development.

Vacation Bible School is the Children’s Ministry’s largest outreach event and occurs each summer.  We also host an annual Easter egg hunt and fall festival.

Caring Cards

Each month during Sunday school, the children of St. John's create and mail beautiful cards to our church family as well as those in our community.

Angels at the Alter

During the month of December, St. John's volunteers purchase, wrap, and deliver Christmas gifts to families in the community.

We have a variety of informal classes to meet the needs of individuals of all ages and stages of life. Everyone is welcome in our adult Sunday school and Bible study classes. Please contact the church office for a listing of our Sunday school classes.

Adult Choir

Be a part of the music ministry at St. John's by serving the Lord as you lead in worship and praise. If you love Jesus and love to sing about Him there is a place for you in the choir.
